Desktop privacy notice
Publisher: Level Up Classroom Inc., Canada. Contact: reece@levelupclassroom.com. This notice applies to Desktop and its separate purchase/activation services.
Your teacher workspace
Classes, student records, marks, attendance, plans and downloaded work are stored in the workspace you choose on your computer or drive. LUC’s purchase/activation server does not receive the gradebook, Google tokens, student files or your AI key. Local workspace files and complete backups are not encrypted by LUC. You choose where to keep, export, back up and delete them.
Optional Google connections
With your permission, Desktop connects directly to Google to retrieve selected course rosters/submissions, publish reviewed LUC assignments, copy attached submitted work and send reviewed grades or return work. Native Google documents can be exported as local PDFs. The separate submitted-work connection requests Drive read-only permission. Google’s grant covers the account’s Drive; the app’s course sync retrieves attachments from linked submissions, while teacher import tools retrieve documents you select.
Google grants are protected in local operating-system account settings and excluded from complete workspace backups. Disconnect the separate file connection to remove its local grant. Already downloaded files remain until you delete them. Review/revoke the app’s access in your Google account as well. Removing a local file or disconnecting Desktop does not delete Google’s source records.
Optional AI and sharing
AI runs only when you choose to send a request. Selected work, assessment context, prompts and files are sent directly to your chosen provider under its terms. They can contain student information. Hide names changes the on-screen display; it does not redact names inside documents. Review every request, use school-approved providers/settings and check the provider’s data-use and retention terms. Do not send student personal information to unpaid Gemini API services.
Level Up Classroom does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or use it to train its own AI models. We follow Google’s API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements when using and transferring Google API data. Optional AI transfers require appropriate teacher consent and provider settings; this notice does not claim that a security assessment has been completed.
Payment, licensing and recovery
Stripe processes payment, tax and payment-contact details. Desktop services process purchase/payment references, licence/device identifiers, activation/transfer history, encrypted purchase-contact email and private recovery records. We retain licensing/recovery records while needed to support the purchased licence and resolve transfers, recovery, fraud or legal obligations. This is not an automatic deletion schedule. Deletion requests are reviewed through support; deleting required recovery records can prevent future licence recovery or computer transfers. Stripe’s own transaction-record retention applies separately.
Service requests, updates and support
Google-hosted Desktop services and download hosting process ordinary request/connection metadata for service operation and security. Provider logging/retention settings apply. The Desktop purchase pages do not include advertising or third-party analytics scripts. Installed updates require your confirmation and a safety backup; portable program replacements keep the workspace separate.
We use support messages to respond to your request and retain them as needed for support, unresolved issues and applicable legal obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of seller-held personal information by emailing support. Requests are subject to identity verification and necessary legal/transaction-record retention. No support response deadline or fixed log-deletion period is promised.
Your choices
Use manual grading without AI or Google, disconnect optional providers, revoke keys/grants at the provider, and manage local records/backups. Do not email student files, complete workspace backups, provider keys or private recovery codes to support. Changes to this notice will be dated; new Google data uses require appropriate disclosure and consent.
